A Cappella Showcases
The Association of Collegiate A Cappella at Ball State provided me a safe space to make meaningful relationships and quality music; however, it has also given me many opportunities to setup and operate live sound.
Beginning in the Spring of 2019, I set up, tore down, and ran live sound for all 5 of the performing ensembles in the Association of Collegiate A Cappella in many different spaces. In total, I worked at 8 different performances and created an inventory list, setup and teardown document, and basic tutorials on things like EQ and compression for future engineers of the organization to reference. Additionally, as the lead audio engineer for the organization, I was in charge of storing all of our equipment, and communicating with our school of music about borrowing any equipment. It can be challenging to provide quality sound when transitioning from professional venues like Pruis Hall to classrooms in the Teacher’s College on campus; however, the ACA engineers train and work extremely hard to provide their audiences with an incredible experience.
Shows that I’ve operated live sound for: Irish Hello! (Unexpected Resolution Solo Show, 2019), ACA Fall Showcase (2021), ACA Masterworks Concert (2021), Unexpected Invitational (2021), ACA Spring Showcase (2022), A Blue Debut (The Parallels Solo Show, 2022), LCAnniversary (Ladies Choice Solo Show, 2022), Celebrating 10 Years (Note to Self Solo Show, 2022), Green is the New Green (Unexpected Resolution Solo Show, 2022).
